Time for some Christmas Toys!
Root Division is hosting a one-night artmaking event, The Misfit Toy Factory, that features over 40 Bay Area artists making sculptures, toys, and small works onsite in the gallery space in Mission. I’ll be making seasonal costumes for the Sonny Angels, similar to the work in my Little Sonny project.
Come join us at this fun event! All works will be available for sale at $40 each.

My next art project - MAKE A WISH: A Collective Art Project for 2013
For my next show that runs from mid-December to mid-January 2013, I want to do something seasonal and meaningful. I came up with the idea of MAKE A WISH, that invites people to share their ambitions in 2013, and be reminded of their words by receiving a hand-made binback button, printed with their own manifests. Two buttons will be made for each "wish" collected. One will be part of an installation at the exhibition, and the other one will be mailed back to the wish maker.
I'm currently working on the installation piece, which is a hand-knitted fabric, 60" x 60" in size, that will carries all buttons made from "wishes" collected from the project website, and will be displayed at the first floor gallery at UC Berkeley Extension Art & Design Center.

One of my painting (I’m still deciding which one) will be included in the Root Division’s 11th Annual Art Auction!
This fundraising event presents an eclectic mix of quality artwork from over 100 established and emerging local artists. Take a chance, throw your hand up in the air, and return home with an inspiring, affordable, and original work of art. Proceeds benefit Root Division’s free after school art classes for Bay Area youth. You’re not only helping the artists, but also children in the Bay Area!
