Bio
Angie was born and raised in Hong Kong, China. She worked as a software engineer in Bay Area and Hong Kong after she finished her undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Her interest in graphic design and visual art brought her to web interface design and development, while she believed the internet was a new medium that combines technology and aesthetic. In 2008, Angie joined Apple as an UI Engineer, and worked with the world class designers in the field. Reckoning she would not have fully devoted herself into art and design if she does not let go of her engineering career, she quitted her job at Apple in early 2011, and studied the Post-Baccalaureate program in Fine Art at UC Berkeley Extension.
The switch of her career path had inspired her to make art that encourages the viewers to reveal the inner self of life. Angie’s current study included painting, knitting, and photography, with an attempt to evoke silence and invite the viewers listen to their voices from within; and realize there are always space given to our potentials.
Angie is living in Oakland California, and is one of the artists in resident at Root Division, a San Francisco based non-profit art organization that provide subsidized studio space to working artists in exchange for their service in youth and adult art education opportunities to the bay area community. Her works have been exhibited locally at the UC Berkeley Extension Art & Design Center in San Francisco.
